  1. Thats a nice fish, and i agree with supertramps statement.
  2. 1.5-2.0 for lakers 2.5 to 3.2 for kings and steelies. Gps speed is always higher even comparing water speed with a water wheel compared to gps speed you will get a variance.
  3. Fished sat and sun with my dad and a friend aboard. Sat started in 40 - 50 ft as we heard there were fish there the previous day and nothing. Went out to 80 ft then out towards 120. After no hits set up a laker program about 9 am. moved into 80 ft and hooked our first fish. About an 8 lb laker wonderbread dodger and clown spin n glo. about tem minutes later hooked another on a two tone copper and silver dodger and dark green spin n glo. got it almost to the baot and it got into one of the other riggers and gone. The hooked a iing about 14 lbs on a big white paddle and pickled shunshine just hitting the bottom with a braid diver. Hooked another laker right after on a 300 copper with a two tone green dodger with a clown spin n glo. lost it. we ended up losing a couple more lakers going 3 for 7. I just couldn't keep them hooked saturday. Sunday ran down towards saugituck and set up on a king troll. First fish hit a 300 copper with a moonshine atomic watermelon. and just took right off. fish never stopped and my buddy tried to horse the fish a little and broke the fish off near the spoon. right after that we got a 6 lb steelie on a 150 copper with a miami dolphin spoon. then decided to set up for lakers again as nothing was going. Picked up a 16 lb king and a 10 lb laker. We lost one other laker and ended up 3 for 5.
  4. Check Johnsons Supreme Marine. Go to the light where the shell station is on old 31. Go south just out of town they are on the right. about a mile and a half. Talk to Todd or Don. http://johnsonssupreme.com/ 1-231-843-2044
  5. I gotta agree i had some walleye boards and use all offshore boards for coppers. When i went to otter boats for walleye the walleye boards were sold. I think they make a better diver than a board when you have heavy lines on them and i dont care how much you adjust the weight. I played that game. I am getting a set of tx-22s for running over 300ft of 45 lb copper for next season.
  6. Call tony from Lord of the riggers he is a distributor and supporter of the board and lives just a short distance from the plant. His prices are cheaper than direct for members of the board here.

    Lake Trout

Learned a long time ago from an old lady how to pan ftr lake trout. You have to use cast iron skillets as the newer metals just dont get hot enough. put oil in the pan just high enough to cover half the fillets. turn the heat to high. when you splash a little water and it pops and sizzles its almost there. When you can throw a wood match in and the match lights then goes out the grease is ready. Bread dont batter the filets as the breading will let the grease escape. lay the fillets in and cook to well browned on the first side flip and cook till the fish is done. It doesnt take long this way and most of the grease cooks out of the fish and you are left with an awesome tasting peice of fish.
  8. There is also a variant that is called microsoft security essentials 2011 All you have to do is reboot into safe mode with networking. Search for tdskiller and download and run it: http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/solutions?qid=208280684 then search rkill rdownload and run it: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill go to download .com search malewarebytes. run in safe mode full scan you'll get an message saying that it wont remove the complete virus in safe mode. ignore it and run maleware bytes. when the scan is finished restart into windows rescan and remove the traces. then download ccleaner. run the registry scanner (follow these prompts) clean the registry backup the registry. do this twice. All traces will be removed All are free tools and ask for a donation if they work. These rootkits can be nasty to get rid of if you dont have experience with them. Oh yeah we charged 85 dollars at the store to remove it when i was there so ssshhhhh!!!!!
  9. i have a lakemaster and a old nautic path for my hds. I like the nautic path for erie and the lakemaster for lake mich. I know lowrance came out with a new one that is like 200 bucks but have not seen it anywhere to what makes that one better yet.
  10. Like we talked about on the phone last night, you have a seat any time you want to fish on my boat. Just thank god nobody was home to get hurt.
  11. Awesome job this weekend. hopefully we can repeat it during the Big Red in a few weeks.
  12. NIce job Jim. I have a wedding this weekend. I did get the boat converted back over for salmon and will be hitting it hard starting next weekend. I also replaced that walleye rod that broke, and got 2 more extras.
  13. Nice Job wish i would have fished saginaw bay this year instead of erie.
  14. Sounds like a good trip non the less.
  15. I'm cooking a bag up tonight when i get home. Gotta love fresh walleye.
  16. and that folks is why you will NEVER see me in canadian waters or on their shores. Went there once in my lifetime and never again they are ^&%$#@!S over there. I have done some world travleing in my llife with scuba equipment and never had so many problems just trying to go to a stinking casino for my inlaws anniversary. Never again.
  17. Cabelas ticked me off when my dad and i were looking for a small boat just a couple weeks ago. My dad has had double knee replacement and has a hard time moving. What he needed to see was if he was sitting at the wheel how hard of a time he would have getting up from there on a couple differnet boats. We were told they dont allow people on the boats until after the purchase is complete. You can look from the outside and see if it is a boat that you like or not. We asked for the store manager and were promptly told by the manager that that is the new store policy. How would you like buying a boat that has had a bunch of people playing on the boat. We said ok see ya we'll go to the lund dealer. I have not been happy with cabelas much lately. They now have a 30 day return policy. I live about 3 hours from there and if somehting doesnt work out right and i cant get there basically i am screwed for making that purchase. I used to like that store but am pretty much done shopping there.
  18. I have heard a couple horror stories from there and cabelas.
  19. I had my gall bladder out about three years ago now. Once the effects and pain are gone from surgery it isn't bad. You will learn to stay close to a batroom for the first few months after eating fried food but your body will get used to it. and back to normal after a few months. I understand the money issue i have been laid off since april 2010. Had a few odd jobs that ended up with lay offs. Finally last monday i got a break and found a really good job. Things can olny get better. Thats what i kept telling myself and it has started to turn around.
  20. Jimmy (Jimbobber) Joind my dad and i saturday. It was ROUGH. We fished in front of Fermi to stony point getting 6 eyes and one throw back on proto type JP Slammers 5 came on the slammer and one on a streak. Fished close to the bottom again from 15 -22 down on mini discs at 2.5mph. Sun Jimmy joined my brother and I. We fished the same area and and first thing banged two. about an hour later we got one more and that was it. Thanks for the spoons Jim i really liked fishing with them this last month and hopefully we can get them in production and into the bait shops over there so i can get a bunch. It was a tough weekend again over there. We had a blast over there with my family and Jims family. Looking forward to doing it agian next season. With that said we pulled the boat today and brought her home to rerig for salmon. Hopefully we'll be on the big pond saturday morning.
  21. I completely agree!!!!
  22. I do what wild at heart does with a chamberlains. But instead of crimps that can damage the cable i am using dreamweaver downrigger speed beads. There like 3 or 4 bucks for a pack at outdoorsman. They dont move or break like the cheapy scottys do.
  23. Jim I'll call you later tonight. Been kind of busy with the new job and a huge network crash on my second day of work here, yesterday.
  24. They are also nailing guys for having flare guns on board if you go into canadian waters, as they are illegal in canada.
  25. I had to keep pulling lines to clean off the bugs it was horrible.
