they were doing the same thing in monroe this year. the CG had two boat out doing stops plus the dnr sherriff and the odnr was right on the border most weekend days.

Fishin is great gotta break away and get over here. I heard a guy saying at the sterling state park cleaning station saying: " i try not to make to many friends they interfere with fishing.All the weddings birthday parties get togethers graduation parties. all i need is three friends to have three people on the boat". I like his thought patern. We have two weddings during fishing season and have had a couple grad parties on coming up in two weeks. Don't people know it fishing season? lol

Nice Job mark i coundt get a crew for saturday so ended up out on sunday.

Sunday was my first trip out on this side of the state after being in monroe since may. We went 13 for 18-20 not sure kind of lost count. Jon Marvin My cousins Scott and Nathan went out. We were going to run out to where Jimmy had told me about but decided to start just north of the pier heads in 60 foot of water. went on a slow NW troll and got all the lines in the water. Hit 80 ft and the fun began. Ran 4 riggers down 30 - 45 ft. 2 half cores a 7 color 150 copper 2 225 coppers and 2 braid dives back about 65. I dont remember what spoons were on what but what worked best was dw mongolian beef, dancing anchovy flounder pounder blue, shelly snack, atomic watermelon, proking green glow, silver streak yellow tail green dolphin black fin tuna green paddle with green glow fly and glow poofster combe from big weenie.Had one hit on a diver rod down 125 in 80-90 ft that there was no turning decided to try and thumb the spool big mistake got a hell of a burn on my thumb and that fish just kept going ended up breakin off the poofster fly. All the lines took fish. We had 5 steelhead and the rest kings. Thanks Jon for going and helping keep up with setting lines. Jon that spoon you liked so much was the black fin tuna.

1 i like wire for deeper presentations and braid for shallower 2 like mark said you can half hith a rubber band and pass your line and swivel through it then clip to your main line and set it where you want it 3. yes they do i have a few friends that use paddles spin doctors and dodgers over there.

Not sure how many guys know Irv. He fishes with me quite a bit during the summer. I havn'e heard from him in a while and talked to him last night. He was in a motor cycle accident and got busted up pretty bad. 5 broke ribs and a shattered ankle. He is pretty bummed out as he wont be able to fish the rest of the season. You guys that know him give him a call he could use it.

sea eagle where are you going out of maybe i can give a littlemore insight. Oh yeah a warning about the border. Ohio has a couple new CO boats out there and are being a little touchy about crossing the border. usually they give you time to finish a turn but i heard guys raising cain on the radio for being stopped making a turn and crossing the border. the lady at jeffs said they are trying to pay off these two new boats and writing a lot of tickets. they have heard a lot of complaints about being stopped where nobody was ever stopped before. if you do croos the border it is 2 rods in ohio and that is waht they are mainly writing the tickets for.

nice meeting you at the marina too badger. Ya know i remembered the scale to post pic but left the camera at my mom and dads house. the fishing wasnt fast and furious but out of the 14 fish only 3 were between 15 and 18 inches. It looks like my walleye fishing may be done this year. i have to pull the boat saturday. sunday while we were out i started noticing a vibration. After talking to the volvo shop they are 99% certian i have a ujoint going so i have to get it in have the outdrive pulled and have ujoits done.It was getting worse as the day went on when i would turn to the left the whole boat would vibrate. Johnsons can get it in next week and have it done by the weekend so i may be back over there but not sure it is about time to switch the boat over for salmon For spoons stay with purples with chartruese. We did better on streak minis than juniors for our bigger fish. or the antifreeze backs. nick our big fish came right on the border straight out from stoney point.

Well saturday was plain blowin when we got to the marina. talked with a couple peole and decided to go gt breakfast. Waited and it still didn't lay down. Decided to go home. Sunday we got out late due to my brother over sleeping. Left the marina at 8:30. Landed 14 with 6 around the 6 -8 lb mark. rest from 15 - 20 inches. What worked best dlide diver out 36' with moonshine perch pattern. i had two out and they took four of the six big fish. moonshine highline. Jimmys prototype jp slammer walleye spoon took the other two big walleye. purple and chartruses. the rest came off the big boards and mini discs with an assortment of colors 70 back. we were straight out of brest bay at the border.

saturday set up straight out from stoney point Got 8 fish and about 20 throwbacks. mini discs 70-90 back with moonshine highlne being the best producer. Slide diver lite bites back 30 ft. Sunday wnet back out to the same area had to do a short trip fished form 8-12 got 5 on the same program. Lots of smaller fish the closer we got to fermi.
