I tie an albright knot but do about ten twists with the superbraid around the wire.

I disagree if you are running back 300ft and have a break off you dont have to refill the reel to get back out 300 ft or a tangle where you have to cut back. with having 1000 ft you can cut back and not worry.

We dive different islands in the carribbean during the winter. Most of the islands we go to are in near the equater and have the trade winds. They have tried windmills on several islands and have fiound even with the constant wind that they just dont produce. Bonaire for example when we were there in 2005 was one of the big test years. in 2007 they were back to running the power plant and not using the windmills at all. Several of the other islands have tried it allso to the same avail. Curcaco, Aruba, Grand and Little Cayman, Dominica. and these are just the islands that we frequent. Here the wind never stops the one thing they might get is a wind reversal but the wind is constant. If they would work anywhere it would be these islands. I just dont think this is the right solution.

There freakin fugly, and i dont want to have to navigate around them espically on erie where there is 300 - 500 boats all fishing the same area. you think the pack in ludington or manistee is bad come down and see what sputnick is like when the fish are there add in windmills and someone is gonna get killed. I am completely against these hazards to navigation. put em somewhere else. we dont need em.

I really like the 19 strand and will never go back to the 7 strand again. Go with one spool per rod 1000ft in case you do have to cut back. Since i have changed i have not had the kink issues. They did have an issue at first but that has been fixed. It is easier to tie the wire knot for the swivel. Also (knock on wood) i have not lost a diver due to the wire breaking. For a swivel i use one of the ball bearing swivels off my spin doctors. The torpedo tips are great to work with use 5 minute epoxy to glue them on. They come with a piece of shrink tube in case the rod tip is smaller than the guide.

Why arent the cat fish farmers paying for the clean up. They made this mess. They should be held responsible for it. Boycott buying catfish from fish stores. -
EDITORIAL: Lake level problem demands urgency
Line Dancin replied to News's topic in Great Lakes News
Good points and your right lake erie is beyond low. I had a heck of a time at the launch in july to pull my boat and bring in back to the holland area. Welcome to the board. -
Im not totally sold on them. After talking to a few different people that work with them i dont think we have the wind needed to produce the energy they are claiming. Two in particular told me how they wrok. I was told by two different people in two different area, 1 in ludington, 1 that was staying at sterling state park and installed the turbines in canada. You need a sustained 25 mile an hour wind to produce 90%. The ones in lake erie produce approx 60 percent When there is wind. This is sustained wind not gusts. we dont have sustained winds of 25 mph here for any period of time. I am going on the guys that work on them not by the two sides arguing over whether we should put them in or not. I dont know if this is completly true but two different people saying similar things makes me wonder. When we fish erie i was down there only one day when we were near the border where all of them were turning and we really shouldnt have been fishing. Otherwise most of them sit still most of the time. I just cant see where all the energy is supposed to come from when these things sit still most of the time.

When these guys get caught they need to be casturated. What a shame.

Anything that is run by the governmetn is a disastor. A few years ago we were camping My wallet was in the pocket of my jeans. Furnace was on in the camper as it was cold. I was wearing my hunting clothes and standing by my buddies camper. he says holy crap your campers on fire. My wallet was singed everything melted. I nocked my jeans off the couch and the leg fell into the furnace grate and up they went when i was leaving the camper. so I go to social security for a new card nope cant do anything with that burned stuff you need an id whether drivers license or state id. I do have id it was in a fire, we cant use that after half an hour i go to sec of state Same thing. They want a picture id to prove i am who i am. My id was in a fire after an hour there i lost it, got beligerent and called the person a stupid ignorant moron because she can clearly see on my license the picture of "ME" and " MY" name the rest is burned up. Finally an hour and a half of arguing the manager finally comes out of his office after i threaten to climb the counter to go get him as the desk moron wouldnt go get him to help out. They finally agreed with all the burned up stuff i had on the counter credit cards wallet and everything else that my wallet went through a fire. "DUHHHHH" holy carp i say to them your geniuses. after three hours i finally get my drivers license. I'll tell ya if it has to do wit a government agancey be prepared to getr screwed around.

Walker downrigger weight capacity
Line Dancin replied to perchjerker's topic in Boat Maintenance and Rigging
that one will work if using toggles. I havent tried those i was afraid of having enough room once you go to the new motor. That is why i stayed with the top mount rocker switch. Gama's switches are awesome. We used to order fom them all the time when i was at the dealership. I have thought about trying them and getting switch plugs for the top. -
