  1. i started running them a few years ago ..terry showed me one of his setups with a 10 inch spindoctor and ive run them since..they definatly catch fish..especially when the bite slows down..i have started running the meat paddles like the ones from john king and big weenie and they work good also..they arent out every trip but you cant have too many options:)
  2. hey rob..it was great having you swoop in and wipe us out:grin:i hope to see you again in 2011..have a great winter
  3. in my business we deal with heavy lift cranes a lot and sometimes its more about break down and put up as these are to large to just drive to the site..they need to be broke down and reasembled on site..so they may have dispatched one immediatly but takes 3 days by time they are rigging..
  4. pretty much what tim said now that i look at it:grin:
  5. i use the spro swivel with a haywire twist..then use a small piece of shrink tube over the haywire...fits nicely thru line guide on cv55..also switched to wide mouth line guide and fits even better...was concerned about haywire but the strength is far beyond the leader strength and also dont have line twist issues with the spro swivel as opposed to the albright
  6. i guess what the main thinking was that its a fun and learning set of tourneys..thats why we dropped the no charter captain language...its open communication and who better to learn from than the guys who do it for a living...do we think a guy is gonna drop a charter to fish our event and not win enough to pay for gas..of course not but we want the option open to let them..the points system also gives the oppurtunity to learn more aspects on fishing different species of fish..we have asked a lot of people about this and never will everyone be all in agreance..but the majority of the guys are there for the fun and learning.we had a boat(you know who you are..doug ).that started the year struggling to bring a 10 ounce fish to the board..last event he was one of the best boxes and won big fish for the year...himself saying it was due to the people he met and the info shared thruout the year..if there is a ton of objection to the points system we will definatly look at it again..there is plenty of time before the tourneys start and as much as i would like everyone to be 100 percent happy i know that isnt going to happen..but again at this point these rules arent gospel...
  7. as with most of us i try to remember the names of all the spoons...but i mix em up all the time..on the boat i told jim i thought it was an evil alewife then i thought it was a green alewife...well ..research has discovered it is actually a silver streak black fin tuna...im getting old and memory loss must be settin in
