Hi guys, there is a antenna up grade for the moor and kell depth raider heres the link http://www.fish307.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=25 also make sure you order the right boom sleeve to hold the contact sleeve they come in one inch and inch and a quater,,it has pictures and how to do the up grade on the tec and tips page, did mine this winter was easy,good luck and be safe this season
  2. my sister is a nurse so it was a no brainer for me,any hospital supply store should have it slipknot.
  3. i would mount it on the dash out of the sun and weather,i dont like to drill unnecessary holes in my boat so i wouldnt do in dash,its at least a 4 inch hole,also ya got to think about theft, THE BASTARDS!

  5. frank i dont use the tubing on my fly rigs the beads seem to protect the leader just fine,but i do put a dab of two part apoxy in the gap on the bottem of the trebble hooks, the tip was me pleasure its nice to share and it seems everyone here does just that,tight lines
  6. bends easy,careful not to crack it,doesnt take a lot of bend to make it roll nice,youll see the differance,good luck
  7. jwheeler,sounds like all you need is the ez steer from cabelas and your set, my small motor is a short shaft and i dont think its gonna work,prop is gonna come out of the water on wavey days,got to find long shaft
  8. i have the moor sub troll 900 and a complete set of instructions if ya need a copy let me no i installed it to the rigger already,coated cable and the release i just drilled out the lower rivet and installed a small stainless steel screw and a nyloc nut.you have to burn the coating off the first six feet of the coated cable and sand shiney,light the end and let it burn like a candle then install coated cable,make sure you pass it threw the atenna pick up spring before you put on the release,let me know if ya need more help
  9. JWheeler do you fish lake ontario at all? what is the motor in your thompson? i got the chevy 305 top end is 40 mph,im still pondering the kicker motor thing lot of bucks buy the time i purchase everything,got to like the thompson for rough water nice boat.
  10. thanks pat,i found the bracket on the web.im gonna have to remove my swim platform off the back of the boat to make room for both motors.hate to do that,its where the fish box goes.and its gonna be in the way of the rear corner rigger,still pondering the expence also,i like the redondency of two motors thow,but my inboard outboard runs sweet,never had problem knock on wood,but its also my toy and i take care of it,maintence is the key,have you fished lake ontario in the past?

  12. i run twirly tips and the rod guides are ceramic works fine,and i run mag dipseys.
  13. i use 20# maxima chameleon to a solid ring barrel swivel 6 foot fluorocarbon leader 12 # seagar,to 30#coastal loc swivel,no split split ring on spoons.8 foot im6 grafite rods by intrepid 28$ okuma line counter catalina reels, no problems here
  14. yep larger numbers would nice, our eyes are not getting any younger and there is room for a larger counter,,put me down for 4 of these when they are out.

  16. yep it is confusing, hate to loose my license or pay a large fine,like i posted earlier the certified bait i used last year in ontario was a waste of money,mushy and soft not much shine,ran alot more flys and spoons,,gonna read more on this in new yorks fish and game laws,good luck to ya

  19. i would go that route also yooper,but its not a certified bait and i think you can be fined for it on your boat.

    nice boat, got to put a rocket launcher rack on it just above the canvas top and a couple of flood lights,addem to the list ya wont regret it very handy

  23. nice water ride, u need a kicker motor like me,gas is gonna hurt this year,my boat is heavy also 240 hard top thompson,weight is nice when it ruff,good luck
  24. im going to order a new temp speed this year as well,i have the old big jon multi troll,works but seems to cut out alot more than it use to, im gonna go with the sub troll 900 by moor i think, cannon has alot of options and the depth raider is also a good unit,but the more i read the accuracy of the sub troll is for me, congardulations on your new purchase nailer its a nice peice of the fish catching puzzle,,in spring i down size lure size and do what i call the lazy S if your getting bites on the inside turn of the S i slow down a tad if they are hitting on the outside on the turn i speed up, good luck
