NEAR PORT SHELDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - The search for the body of a 55-year-old Zeeland man who investigators said fell out of a boat and into Lake Michigan Saturday afternoon is scheduled to resume Sunday morning. Ottawa County sheriff's deputies are calling the incident a drowning. Thomas Anzivino fell out of the boat around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard and the sheriff's department, at least two miles from the shoreline near Port Sheldon Township. Sheriff's deputies took over the search from the U.S. Coast Guard midafternoon after the mission turned from rescue to recovery. At about 4:30 p.m., 24 Hour News 8 saw sheriff's dive team boats heading into Lake Michigan from a launch on Pigeon Lake. The dive team was using sonar to try and locate Anzivino. Investigators said they do not know why he fell out of what the Coast Guard described as a 28-foot boat. Anzivino's 24-year-old daughter was on the boat sunbathing at the time, according to investigators. She heard a splash, they said, and went in after her father. Then she came back to the boat for supplies to help rescue her father. "She made it back to the boat, went to get a lifejacket ... and by the time she came back with that, he was gone," Ottawa County Sheriff's Sgt. Keith Koeman told 24 Hour News 8. The 55-year-old was "reportedly not wearing a personal flotation device" when he fell into the water, according to a Coast Guard press release. HIs daughter was able to draw the attention of other boaters, who aided in the search along with the sheriff's marine patrol and Coast Guard teams from Grand Haven and Holland. A Coast Guard helicopter crew from Waukegan, Ill., north of Chicago, also assisted in the search. The Sunday search will include help from Norton Shores and a Kent County team with a robot that could help in the effort, Koeman said. While the law does not require it, the Coast Guard "recommends boaters wear their [personal flotation devices] at all times when boating," according to a release. "It is much more difficult to locate, access or don a PFD at the moment an accident occurs," the release stated. -

I heard you one the radio last night. I thought you would be in Holland or Port Sheldon. Glad you got the one, hopefully your sister will be back again and you'll get her hooked into a few next time. -
Went out again with my Dad and brother. Set lines at 6:50. We followed the same route as the last couple days with minor changes. Went 3 for 3 again. First one took a blue mirage fly behind a blue bubble flasher on 300 copper, #8 king. The second came on the 7 color with a Chips orange shanster, #5 king. The last one came just before we pulled lines. It hit an atomic melon on a wire dipsy 150 back set at 1, #8 king. Pulled lines at 9:45. I thought we did ok considering the radio chatter concerning the black and white animal with odiferous emanations

Well done. How do you like those torpedo divers? They look interesting, but I haven't heard much about them. -

Nice job! You are right, it's hard to leave a active bite. Sounds like you got the program working well now. -
Went out with my Dad and brother. Set lines at 6:15 starting in 70 fow and trolling SW. We went 3 for 3. Picked up a small king, 12in, on a 7 color on chips orange shanster stingray, released. Later we had a 5# king on Monkey puke stingray on a downrigger set 50 ft down. Last one was caught on a dipsy 125ft back on a 2 setting pulling a Freakin veggie magnum, 7# king. Pulled lines at 9:40. It was a good night- all returned safely, fish in the box, and a Blackhawks Win!! Heard on the radio a fisherman was lost overboard in Port Sheldon in the morning and the seach was still going on. Person still missing and presumed drown. My condolences to the family. BE SAFE OUT THERE

I run a 19 ft Proline CC with a T-Top. It runs well in the big lake without issue. You do have to watch the weather and be smart about it. As far as fishing inland, I haven't done any with my boat, but I have seen them in our bayou dunking a bait or two. Hope it helps.

Welcome to the site. You're going to like it here. There many knowledgable folks on here. If you have any questions be sure to ask them.

Nice job Ken! Did you use an ant, spider or popper? Those gills are a blast on a fly rod.

Does anyone use the Okuma Catalina reels? If so, would you be able to give me any information about the quality of the reels. I know they are supposed to be better than the convectors, but are they that much better? What is a reasonable price for one of these, a 455 DA model? I'm seeing prices from 100- 250. I think I got a good deal on it but I'm curious about other location's prices. What is best place in the spread for it? ie. should it be a copper or lead or downrigger rod. Thanks in advance for any info on these reels.

I have (2) muilti-set rod holders that are used with the ball cradle. These are new, still in the box. Box was open to make sure all parts were enclosed. These are silver with black caps. Stock # RH00435 $50 for one - $90 takes both. You would pay actual shipping cost or we can try to setup a meet. Also, I have a dual rod holder with pedestal - new, still in the box. Box was open to make sure all parts were enclosed. These are silver with black caps. Stock # RH02432 $110 - You would pay actual shipping cost or we can try to setup a meet. I'll ship however you would like it shipped. USPS will most likely be the cheapest. I live in IL, but I'm in Grand Haven on weekends frequently. Thanks for looking.

I think it was the sharp hook. I don't think it makes a difference if it is a treble or single. This is a personal preference I think. As long as they are sharp it dosen't matter. I run a treble on all my spoons, but singles on my flies. I will say that if I found a dull treble on a hot lure and only had singles to replace it, they would go on and that lure would go back in the water.

Got a late start this morning, hit the water about 10. Set lines at 60ft at nnw troll, turned around at 75 heading ese. Saw one mark on the sonar, but didn't hook up. Turned back at 40 on n troll heading into the mud and fog. Had two near misses and decided to get out of there. Headed due w, cleared the fog and hooked up with a 4# steelie on a double orange crush off a 4 color in 56 fow. We pulled lines at 130. 1 for 1, short trip, had to travel back home today. Sorry no pics, left the camera at home

You have to watch your backing but I can get 300 feet of 30# copper on my Okuma. I just put 200 yds of power pro and 300 feet of 45# copper and it just fit. I can't help with the Diawa. There is a line fill calculator one of the guys put on this site. A search might find it. I hope this helps.

Sorry Joel. Ken's right, it's on Ebay.

This is a flashlight very similar, if not the one Captain Chip talked about in his "fishing the mud" presentation. He mentioned a price of around $20. I have seen them in other places for $25. I found this one for $15 shipped. Tried mine out on a spoon- wow! it really made it pop. Here's the Item number if you are interested. 110518750964
