We never fished any slower than 3 at the ball in the tournament last weekend. We were back in an hour sat and 2 hrs sunday. Also never left 30 ft of water either all weekend. Love fishing the skinnies!!
We also fished the Muskegon tournament. We were done Sat at 7 and done Sun at 9. Sat was tough getting through the little ones, but we jumped 20 spots on Sun with a better box. They had a good turnout, and the payout was good for the top 3
Jim thats where i am going with that, that would be a good structure. didnt mean to offend anyone with the powder puff class. We are all good fisherman, but like you said it cost alot of money to play. We ran from Frankfort to Manistee for the tourney last year. Fuel wasnt cheap but we were on good fish. to make the day worse we dropped a cylinder on the way back. Run 3 divisions if worried about participants. But id bet if you look at the people who enter theres alot of names that are there every year. Ive fished Frankfort for 8 yrs now. just dont agree with the catch 10 weigh 5. Still liked it when you had to get your trout. Then your thinking!
Sorry TJ, I dont agree with that. How many tourneys have you been too that the AMs weight for 10 fish is more than the pros? I know ive seen it many times. If your looking to have an easy division, then make a powder puff division. Half price weigh half the fish!
I like the Stingers, havent had to many problems with the paint, but I guess when they catch fish you might loose some of it. Find me a spoon that the paint doesnt come off when they get pounded all the time!
I still think it should be weigh 10. You could talk to Fred and have it a 333 only port also. then those that cant catch there fish only need 3 all weekend
Erik, if you drop it to a 5 fish a day. Are you dropping entry fees also? What kind of pay out are you looking at? I know last year we burnt $600 in fuel for 3 days.
Mark, I agree they pull good and anything you put on it. we just had them break off many times. I put them downstairs and went back to the smaller ones
we run all our copper on the regular church boards. we ran the 44's for our 450 and 600 coppers last year and lost alot of copper.boards pull good, but get a good fish and it dives its all gone!
You ready to fish it out and start over? Say they make it no limit, deck load salmon. sounds great! The bait that you say is depleted comes back. What happens if the carp move in, or some other invasive species? Or a collapse like Lake Huron? Or?...... Sounds good but look at the big picture! And to say theres not much bait, ive seen more in the last two years than before so i have to disagree on that!
sounds good, so you have done studies better than the fisheries. they have cut back on the stocking due to the reproduction rate of wild fish and the bait coming back. so lets get rid of limits and try to help out. what are you going to do when lake michigan is like lake huron in 5 yrs? sounds like an excellent idea, probably cheaper to run a bass boat anyways
