    Glad you had success! I so wanted to go out this morning. I love fishing in overcast crummy weather. There are definitely fish out there to be caught. Once you figure out troll angle with the weird currents, you are definitely in business. Based on the fact you were catching fish on both sides of the boat, you mastered the troll angle. Well done! Thanks for the call out. I love helping with info. Without help it can be tough out there.

    Well, that was something getting out on the lake this morning. Fog was thick. Finally dropped lines at 6:45am in 140fow. Ran 2 riggers, 1 low dipsey, 1 high dipsey. 6 color and 10 color early and 225copper and 300 copper early. 7:30 first fish. Rigger. Crapface UV at 80ft. Free slide standard blue dolphin rv. Blue dolphin 8lb steelhead. 7:45 changed spread. 2nd fish 325 copper dancing anchovy 9lb steelhead 3rd fish 325 copper dancing anchovy 4lb king. Gill tore so had to keep. I felt bad. 4th fish Diver deeper diver setting 2 wonderbread 7lb steelhead 5th fish rigger down 100 dancing anchovy bottom lure small king (release to grow bigger) 6th fish 350 copper mongolian beef rv 5lb steelhead 7th fish 350 copper mongolian beef 4lb laker (released after getting air out of bladder) Very nice day. 7 for 7. It was definitely a steelhead bite. No sizeable marks early. Still quite a bit of bait until about 8am. Fished between 140fow-165fow. Worked northwest and southeast trolls. Found current and troll angle to be the best going in and out on those directions. Most fish came on turns. Trolled 2.5-3.1 at ball. For whatever reason they bit mag dancing anchovy and mongolian beef rv glow spoons.

    Networking! It's a wonderful thing. The information we all share helps so much when you are a person that can't get out every day. All of you have helped me be a better fisherman throughout the last few years and especially this past season. A big thank you to all. Ed... I get what you threw down there. "Sheepish Grin".     Oh, one other note. I pretty much ran mag spoons and a couple flasher fly combinations. After cleaning the fish last night, their stomachs were full of small bait. Really small... If I had to do it over, I would have run standard and super slims throughout the spread. Maybe mag on bottom rigger presentation with standard/superslim sliders. Going out again tonight and will follow my own suggestion. I will let you all know how it goes if I get out. There are still a lot of fish out there and they flood the screen as the sun hits the horizon. Until we get crazy cold weather with rain, I think they will stick around. Good fishing everyone. What a great year!

    Went out at 6:30pm with wife and daughter. Just a beautiful night to go have fun. Set up in 130fow straight out of Holland. South Troll zig zag between 130 and 150fow. Had just set 2nd rigger (2 rods in the water) and first rigger went. Dancing anchovy set 80' down 51 degree water. Nice 2 year old king. Got all rods set. 400 copper (never went all night) white slick/pickle fly. Outside board 250 copper took two 2-3lb kings. Super slim soda spoon. Other rigger went 70'down wonder bread stack with free slider. Free slider took hit. Nice coho. 350 copper with dancing anchovy (no hits) and 225 copper with new spoon orange/blue/green ladder (no hits). Ended up 4 for 4 two Keepers. Lots of bait and hooks from 135-145 sunset until we ran in at 8:45pm.

    It's that time of year where you don't want to give up but the fish are going away to winter. What a year though. Definitely one of the best years I can remember. Good luck up in the north. Safe travels.

    I figured fish would eventually be in tight and they were but not until sunset. 6 for 6 but not until sunset and all small. Biggest fish was about 8-9lbs. All spoons no flasher/flies or plugs. Went north to power plant. Set up in 120fow and trolled west nw. Marked an occasional fish here and there out to 150fow. Turned around and headed east south east. About 100fow started picking up fish on bottom. We were running 1 rigger and one dipsey down there and they would check it out but no action. Just as sun hit the horizon, the screen came to life. Huge non stop bait clouds between 85-105fow. Hooks above and below. Caught all six fish in about an hour. 250 copper 2 fish w/dancing anchovy. High dipseys on setting 3 125 and 115 back mongolian beef and crabface RV spoons. Low dipseys back 180+ early then 80-100 later never took a hits. 10 color took two with green hulk uv. 1 coho 5 × 2 year old kings. Weird night. Fish were there but I could get them to cooperate with the number of fish all over the screen. They just wern't hungry f9r what i was offering them.

    Fun morning. Set lines at 5:45am just short of power plant/Port Sheldon. 10 for 10 started in 70fow and like and landed on 95-100fow. North West troll worked better than southeast trolls. Fished 120-140 later in the morning and went deep. With coppers. Early program 175 copper = no fish 250 copper = (2) fish 17lb and 8lb kings w/dancing anchovy rv 10 color = (1 ) fish 7lb coho monolian beef rv 300 copper = no fish salmon candy flasher/green fly Outside dipsey #1 = (1) @178' white slick w/pickled sunshine 7lb coho Outside dipsey #2 = (2) @ 225' Dancing anchovy rv & green lighting plug later. 6lb coho 10lb king Downrigger #1 = (2) stacked slider 6lb and 8lb coho 65' down and 75' down later. Both came on bottom Downrigger #2 = nothing Later morning around 9am. Put out 325 copper and 350 copper in 130fow. 325 dancing anchovy 18lb king. 350 rv two face SD with green crinkle fly. 7lb king.

    Nice night out with friends. Fished out and to the north after run. Just short of Port Sheldon south troll with a zig zag. Started in 130 and worked my way in until I found fish. About 1 hour before sunset things really started to happened. All fish came between 85-105fow. 7 for 9 2 X 250 copper. Standard half bloody nose glow. 7lb king and 10lb king. Inside dipsey on 1 deeper diver 124. 185' back uv two face black and green dot SD w/ green fly 17lb female king 225 copper w/salmon candy yellow,green chrome flasher w/krw fly 6lb coho 2 X rigger stack free slide UV crabface glow spoon. 70 feet down. One on free slide other on bottom. 10lb & 8lb kings 325 copper w/green dancing anchovie UV glow. 12lb king Lost two smaller fish on 225 and 250 coppers. We were working other fish and they came off before we could get to rods. Tried plugs white and greens. No bites. Tried white slick SD green fly with no hits. Also had a few shakers that we sent back to hopefully get bigger. Fish stopped biting about 30 minutes after sunset. Lots of bait clouds and lots of marks bottom up to 70 feet an hour before sunset until be pulled lines at 9:30pm.

    Well done. The last time we had a flip like this the smaller fish gravitated in shallow. Do you think the big dogs moved out or do you think they are lurking in shallow?

    Went out this morning knowing that water temps were going to be an issue. Pushed north up towards Port Sheodon and set up in 110fow. Tons of marks so why not. I had a lot of different stuff out at first but finally figured it out. Water was 72 at surface and 66 90ft down. So, down I went... way down. Ended up 13-20. Kept 8. Released 5 back to grow up (1 & 2 year olds). 3 break offs which were screamers and the rest were hookups and horsing them too hard. All kings. What worked. Tried spoons and a couple plugs and flasher flies all over the spread early. Plugs seemed to work, so plugs is what they got everywhere. Riggers down 90 and 105. Green splatter back captain's choice glow and yellow splatter back same. Inside wire divers 124's deeper divers back 195-210. Yep I know. Down there. Caught some zebra muscle but it was worth it. Ran white Jplug with black lightning glow and white ladderback captain's choice glow. 325 copper and 350 copper. Early ran both with white lighting red face plug and white with purple ladder back glow. Took fish then shut off. Switched to Megatron flasher/green fly and other custom flasher chrome with purple ladder Uv tape krw blurle/green uv fly caught a couple more. Fished between 115-140fow northwest and southeast trolls. Tried to keep as close to 2.5 at the ball as I could with weird currents and depth I was running things. Most hits came on turns either stalling lures or speeding them up. High divers back 275-300 never took any hits. 225,250,300 coppers I tried never took hits. You had to be way down in the water.

    I agree. There are a lot of fish out there. Like always... some days they want spoons or flasher fly or meat... run what you have until you figure out what their taste buds want.

    I had my first experience with catching a fish with not one but two broke off lures in it's mouth. Combine that with my jplug... what a mess. One lure was a peanut fly, leader and a huge barrel swivel. The other lure was some nasty looking silver stream spoon. I guess when your hungry it doesn't matter how bad your mouth feels.

    What a morning! Went out of Holland and south towards Saugatuck. We started about half between both channels in 60fow. Will incluse screen in pictures. Fish everywhere. Ended up 10-14 fished until 8:30am. That work thing.... 5:45 rigger down 45ft. Raspberry carbon huge rip and good fight but popped off. 6ish other rigger down 60 in 90fow green splatter back plug. 12lb king Moved out to 125fow and hit the mother load. Everything started firing. A little crazy with just my daughter and I. 10" Green dot uv SD w/green fly on inside dipsey king out 120 Ouside dipsey fired 3 times out 210 with dragon slayer green fly 20lb king 300, 325 both could not keep in the water. Both had plugs. White ladderback glow and yellow/green splatterback. Switchout out rigger with Raspberry Carbon to stacked green jeans and slide half jeans. It took hits down 65 Otherside of boat high and low divers got nailed high had white slick SD green fly and low had old school green ladderback jplug. We broke off three fish at fly. So weird. All were big fish too. We saw at the surface when they broke off. Last fish was our biggest. 22lb king on 325 copper w/chrome green lightning plug. I put out there just to see what would happen. Glad I did. Troll direction and current was pretty easy to figure out today. South East and north west trolls worked the best for us. We were at nine fish and decided that was enough. 300 went with a big Laker that the gill got torn. Smoker time. Too bad the lake looks rough for the weekend. Fishing is out of sight right now. At fish cleaning station I talked to numerous people that fished north of Port Sheldon, out infront of Port Sheldon, Holland and Saugatuck. Everybody was catching lots of nice fish. Flasher flies, plugs, meat. Not a lot of spoon bites but the ones that did were running standards from what I gathered.

    My team and I fished the Big Red Classic this weekend. What a great experience and well put together tournament. Class operation for sure. Thank you to all the sponsors as well. Saturday: fished straight out and a touch south in 110fow to start. Boated three fish ranging from 17 to 19lbs. Off to a great start. Shelly Snack off high diver 150 back, green splatterback plug low diver 124 deeper diver 80 back, and stack/slider green jeans and half jeans off rigger 65 down. Fished until 8am as planned ran down to Saugatuck. Set up in 130fow and went to RV spoons and flasher flies. Ran riggers down 80 and 100 with sliders. 300 coppers and 350 and 400 coppers finished our box. Megatron w/green fly on 400 took 16lb. 300 took two nice fish with RV crapface and 350 finished our box off with another mid teen fish with custom green flasher and fly combo. Ended with 87 lb 5 fish box. We also end our south troll half way to South Haven. Wow! Sunday. Why mess with a plan that worked. So out we went to our way point. Set up and we free spooled wire diver. Out of commission. Then tangled rigger and other inside Diver somehow. My goodness. Then some boat ran up on us and literally set lines within 30 feet of our boat and then trolled into towards us. Seriously? So, we yanked up and ran towards Saugatuck. Zero fish and we have to boat five. So, we worked. 150 fow straight out. Small king on Raspberry Carbon on 250 copper. Then green jeans on rigger 60 down 8lb king. Hook up on a nice fish off high diver back 214' Optimus prime flasher white fly. Screamed out 100feet of line and it got into 300 and gone. 325 copper went with dragon slayer green fly 20lb king. Caught a 4lb coho on 225copper with some crazy orange spoon. I was desperate to get five fish. We had 2 hours to fish at this point and off went to 400 copper. Optimus price with green gold crinkle fly... Here we go. Nope lost it. Then we caught a small king 6lb on 250 copper with rv Shelly Snack. One fish to go. Come on. 12:20pm and we have to be back to Holland asap from south of Saugatuck. We yanked lines one fish short. We had been marking all day fish in the top 40 feet and I sent a 6 color out with a coho killer spoon at 11ish. It was the last rod to pull and while reeling it in a fish hit it. We reeled it in crossing our fingers it would come off. We boated it and we were off. Glad the lake was dead calm our we wouldn't have made it back in time. Only 44lbs of fish for day two but we placed high enough cover entry fee and gas. Fun weekend. Hard fishing and a great team of friends.

    Took the family that was visiting from Canada out this evening. None of them had fished on Lake Michigan before. What a gorgeous night out on the water. We set lines at 7pm and fished until 9:30pm. Water was cold so we started in 130fow and set up on south troll once figuring out current. We decided to troll in until we found fish. 1st fish 325 copper with yellow bikini bottom 10" SD with yellow gasoline and green mile meat head 22lb king. 2nd fish 12lb king high diver 140 back on setting 3. Proking dragon slayer w/green crinkle fly. 3rd fish shaker king 6 color with yellow goby standard. Sent it back. 4th fish 6lb coho starboard rigger down 55' with slider. Stacked crabface rv. Fish came on slider roughly 25' down. 5th fish 5lb Laker low diver 80' our on greenjeans glow SD pickled sunshine fly. 6th fish small king 10 color lead with moonshine Shelly Snack. Sent it back to grow up. 7th fish 8lb coho 225 copper on crabface uv We had two other rips on moo moo meat rig on 300 copper. Lost both after nice fight. Bite shut down for us about 9pm. We were in 95fow and I believe we were in a dead zone. Fish seemed to be out in 100-130 fow or in way tighter 50-70fow.
