GLF Salmon Clinic Was A Hit
Feb 27, 2010 - 10:44 PM - by GLF
GLF's Avatar I need to give a big thanks to Capt. Don Alofs, Capt. Chip Klein, Capt. Mike Harvey, Capt. Dana Bonney, and Capt. Craig Kent! I also need to thank Tim(Treblemaker) for setting up the hall for this event, Terry(DIRTY DOG) and Frank(Priority1) for helping at the door, and Ken(nailer) for running the video recorder.

I would also like to thank everyone who showed up today at the salmon clinic. There was more people there than what I thought would be there.....like about 40 more!... [Read More]

Battery help and thank you
Mar 09, 2010 - 11:46 AM - by jgaul
jgaul's Avatar I have to say, this is the most polite, informative fishing site I have been apart of. Thanks for all the help with my battery issue, I put a 2nd battery in with a perko switch and it was easy to do! Thanks for all the advice, not just on that, but reading all the other posts. Hopefully I'll get out soon for some browns and will be able to contribute!!

Reel Advice
Mar 08, 2010 - 11:53 AM - by GLF
GLF's Avatar On the side of every reel there is a silver knob. Ever wonder what this knob does? This knob is a spool tension adjustment. By tightening this knob, it puts more tension on the spool, and will prevent gettting a birds nest when the line goes out to fast and stops. If you loosen it, it will let the reel free spool more easily. I adjust the tension on all of my reels. I let the divers out with just the clicker on and do not have issues. ... [Read More]

dipsey questions
Mar 07, 2010 - 10:24 AM - by sjk984
sjk984's Avatar Last year I had a reel hard time getting my dipseyas deployed. Some times they would plane straight behind the bost and I would have to reel them in a few times to get then to plane out to the side.
Can I adjust the spool tension to let them out slower or do I just use my finger for tension? I'm think I was allowing them to tumble down some by letting the line out to fast.
